Growing & Graduating

Isaac Last Day

Isaac's official last day of elementary school picture! Goodbye, fifth grade!

Riley Last Day

Riley's last day of pre-k 3! Conversely, Riley's first ever official last day of school picture! Big Girl.

Isaac Awards

That beaming boy has just graduated the fifth grade with all those awards! I'm so proud I'm bursting!

Perfect Pitch
Super Scientist Competition
Battle of the Books Team
Perfect Attendence
Principal's List (Straight A's)
Pride Award Winner

I told him when this school year started that it was very important to make the most of this school year. I knew he'd have a lot of opportunities to have fun and make memories. I reminded him often that he'd get out of it what he put into it. I feel like it sunk in at some point because he sure went out with a bang! I couldn't be more excited for him.

Riley Teacher

Miss Roo's last picture with her wonderful teacher. I'll miss her as much as Roo will. I'm glad she'll only be across the hall next year.

Last Week Dress Up Days

Somehow the last week of school arrived! Amazing. Riley's moving from Pre-K3 to VPK which means she'll move across the hall to a teacher she's familiar with. It will be her official year before kindergarten. She's excited to be in the "big kid class". In honor of the last week school they had dress up days. Monday was "Pajama Day", Tuesday was "MisMatch Day" and The last day of school was "What I Want to be When I Grow Up Day".

Pajama Day

She picked her "Candy Princess" night gown. I did her hair in to two "mini doughnut" buns with candy colored ribbons. She even had the perfect pink sandals to complete her comfy ensemble. Unfortunately, she couldn't go on the bike to school because Daddy couldn't get her helmet on over her pretty hair do. She was a good sport and went in the car because...you know, priorities.

Mismatch

She decided one pig tail and one braid with a turkey barrette and a green birdie barrette was the hair style of the day. She had a purple butterfly shirt. An organe-y red heart necklace and some gold beads. A red, black and white ruffly plaid skirt. One leopard print shoe with a pink bow and one silver sparkly shoes with jewels. Ta-da!

Digging up Fossils

I wasn't sure what to expect when I asked Riley what she wanted to be when she grew up. I was pleasantly surprised when she declared she wanted to be a paleontologist! I knew it would be fun to put that together. I was also super excited that she didn't say ballerina or any other option a hundred other kids will pick. I'm so happy with how it turned out. If there had been a prize, she would have won.

Fourth Grade Complete

First Day Last Day

I stole the brilliant idea to start taking a last day of school photo from one of my mommy friends. Isaac loves traditions and tangible proof that he's growing up. He was all for it. Here is the first and last day of fourth grade. He came home with a science award, reading award and straight A's all year!! Way to go, buddy!

I can't believe there's only one more year of elementary school! It has flown by. I missed the beginning of Isaac's life, but I have been present for every single first day of school. He always seems so static to me just completely unchanged and then I look at a picture and I'm stunned. To be fair I'm also comparing him to a much younger child who is growing by leaps and bounds still. From the beginning of this school year to the end wasn't a huge change, but when I looked at the first day of third grade I was amazed. Going back to kindergarten it's hard to believe it's the same kid.

I have high hopes for the summer and for his final year in elementary school. I hope he's stays excited about learning, expands his social circle and tries lots of new things.
