The Table
My paper pilgrims, the kids napkin holders and a Disney print out around some hay and fall flowers. Cool, huh? It turned out better than I expected. It was totally worth it to get "fancy napkins".
The Kids
Riley wore her traditional turkey barrette from Craving Cuteness on Etsy. She also wore her sparkly party dress (Yay! Sears clearance). Isaac was thrilled that I approved his red and black dragon shirt. Stylish.
The Bird
This year Mike put the turkey in the smoker (we borrowed it from my brother-in-law for Isaac's party) for 30-45min before putting it in the oven. He pre-cooked the stuffing before putting it in the turkey. He rubbed the bird with fresh herbs (rosemary and sage).
Time to Eat!
The plates looked like artist's palettes. My mom's maroon cranberry sauce with slight orange tint. My mother-in-laws green beans and purple mashed potatoes. Mike's yellow cornbread and the muted tones of turkey and gravy. So pretty. So delicious.
The End
Not pictured is the delicious apple pie with caramel sauce Lara and Matt brought. Amazing way to end a great meal. It never ceases to amaze me how these holiday meals come together. Go team! Happy Thanksgiving!
