Jingle Bell Run 2012

After missing out or arriving as it ended a few years in a row I was thrilled to get out to the Jingle Bell run. Riley looked like a Christmas fairy. We lit up my wheelchair and the dog for the occasion. Aside from being denied access to Santa it was a great trip. No worries though the kids didn't even bat an eyelash at being turned away. It turns out tree climbing is a more than acceptable substitute for a Santa visit. It was a great night.

As far as traditions go this is one of my favorites. As with all family events as the kids ages, my physical ability, the demands of Mike's job and the addition of a dog to our group change how we operate things get complicated. My expectations this year were low and it was a great time. I think we'll get the kinks worked out next year so we can "run" more and make it to Santa before they close the line.

In the meantime it was full of jingling and glowing, Christmas lights and happy kids.
