Paper Pilgrims

I got the idea from an Autumn crafts book I checked out from the library recently. They used them as hats. I think mine will just be table decoration.

Materials
  • Black Card Stock
  • Glue Stick/Tape
  • White Paper
  • Colored Pencils/Crayons
  • White Ribbon
  • Gold Tissue Paper/Foil
Pilgrim Pair

Start by cutting out your base cone shape. Click here for the template. I used a stapler at the bottom and a piece of scotch tape at the top. Then you need a collar. Just fold a small piece of white paper in half. Cut a small triangle in the center and put it on the point of your cone. Then you need to cut heads. I used the bottom of the fabric glue bottle to make my circles. Then I used colored pencils to make faces.

You can cut three rectangles for the bonnet. One long and two shorter framing the face. Use a square and rectangle piece of black card stock for the man's hat. Glue the head above the collar on the point of your cone.

Next, cut a large triangle from the white paper for her apron. Tie white ribbon around her waist. To make his belt cut a white strip long enough to go around him, then add a slightly thinner black strip. Once you've got a belt cut a square of gold paper/tissue paper. Then cut a square of black card stock. Lay the black square on top of the gold and cut around the edges to make the buckle. Repeat the buckle for the hat.

Happy Thanksgiving!
