Meeksa, Mooska, Minnie Mouse!

Remember Riley's rapidly approaching birthday? I kid, I know I get a little obsessed. It's part of why I'm doing event planning now. Anyway, I got all the last goodies for the goodies bags this weekend. I'm still looking for bags to decorate and put them in and cups with lids to do this to:

I found Ziplock cups with lids and straws, but it's a multicolored pack. I did found super cute Minnie/Mickey cups with lids and straws if I can't make them in time. Always have a plan B. I want to do the Minnie ears with a bow and their names. So, they'll have a good bit of swag between these and the goodies.

As I was going down the check list of things to get for a different event it occurred to me it had been two weeks since I ordered Riley's party dress! She had a homemade red dress with a hedgehog dress for her hedgehog party, an Etsy boutique dinosaur dress for her dinosaur party and now...Minne Mouse! After much deliberation and research here's the one we picked from minnieschild on Etsy.

There were quite literally hundreds of options. Most of them were available in both classic Minnie red and white and also the more contemporary pink. Minnie Mouse sure has staying power all these decades after hitting the scene and she's still as popular as ever. I didn't want one with a giant 3 on it because Riley's small and should be able to wear this for a while (like to her first Disney trip) and eventually pass it on. She already has a glittery I'm 3 shirt waiting for her. Also, the new trend seems to be toward mixing polka dots with zebra print or abandoning the traditional dots all together. It's cute, but I'm not a fan. Part of the appeal of Minnie Mouse for Miss Roo has always been the polka dots.

One more wonderful Etsy experience. Perfect, isn't it? I love the simplicity. Minnie's a girlie, but no nonsense kind of mouse. Obviously, we won't be pairing it with pink and purple Crocs at the party. Just like my infectious enthusiasm with the invite bows, I felt a little guilt about the dress. I made a huge deal about it, let her open it, try it on, take pictures and then I took it away to keep it safe for the party. Since then Riley has asked me at least 20 times if it's her birthday yet.

A few more weeks...I can't believe she's going to be 3. I looked at her other to birthdays to find the images for the links to her other dresses and they're so fresh in my mind. Oddly the first one more than the second, but neither feels a year or two away yet. Party details make the sadness about my baby growing up a little more bearable though.

  1. Hello,

Where did you find the Minnie Mouse plastic cups?

  2. The cups in this post were from: Kustomcardsandmore on Etsy. I ended up buying Minnie Mouse take and toss from Amazon for my party though.
