I was all excited this morning because I thought we had slept in until almost 9, I had completely forgotten that the time moved ahead an hour. Sigh. After some errands and some streaming Netflix (the new love of my life)Riley went down for a nap. It was oddly peaceful the whole morning. After lunch the kids went out front to play in the pool. Yes, the pool in March (sorry friends up north).
I also want everyone to know she did have the cute little matching bathing suit bottom on but it kept falling off which is why she has the top on and just a Swimmie. Also, thanks to Grandma Jo for the super cute suit (say that 3times fast). I sat "poolside" the whole time trying very hard to read my book. It was entirely futile because there were stray streams of water, baby freak outs, bird freak outs, intentional water gun attacks and general distracting kid cuteness.
When pool time came to an end as good things must I took the shivering baby by the hand and lead the way to the warm shower. It was strange to stand there with Riley in front of me and bath baby in front of her. I remember the last bath we took together before I weaned and how intimate and sad it was. I was worried we'd never have that again, but here was my big girl standing in a shower. She washed herself and bath baby when I gave her the soapy wash cloth. She's so independent now. I guess I'm lucky she enjoys my company.
When kids were showered and pajama-ed up it was time for a movie (Yay, Netflix). Isaac wore his Transformers pajamas. Riley wore dinosaurs and it was adorable because she'd notice her pants every so often and point excitedly while she roared. I love togetherness, sunshine and pjs and movies days.
